M: I totally agree! People sometimes think big city living is expensive, but when you consider things such as not needing a car, it can actually become far more affordable then suburban or small town living.

Love your list. It’s interesting that it’s quite similar to mine.

I think living in or very close to a big city often makes frugality easier (are you in a city?) because most of what we need is easily reached, cars are often not needed, and there is so much to do that we don’t need to entertain ourselves with lots of tv or expensive entertainment.

And the city usually offers more smaller spaces. When I lived in a more suburban area, we ended up with way more space than we needed, simply because smaller places were not common there. When we moved to a city, we ended up paying less for housing because we easily found a place that was the right size for us.
