Ok so the real reason I got inspired to update this blog is because I was so happy to find Pink Panda Fabrics, a Canadian online fabric shop that offers free shipping in Canada and carries Cloud 9 Fabrics, who do terribly cute organic cotton prints. That was probably a very poorly constructed sentence, but I needed to fit all that information in there.

Now that things are winding down post-wedding, I want to get some sewing projects going but I’ve frustrated by the lack of cute eco-fabric options. It is such a breath of fresh air to see that there is stuff out there. With all those cute prints to choose from it’s going to be hard to decide which to get…

After I got my sewing machine it was only natural that I would need a pin cushion. Except of course I couldn’t find anything I liked in the store, the red tomato? No thanks. So, like pretty much every other time I can’t find anything I like (wedding dress, anyone?) I figured I would just make one. At some point. In the future. I still haven’t, but along the line my mom gave me an extra magnetic one she had so that serves my purpose well for now.

Would make a lovely mother’s day present for a crafty mom, no?

I just got an email about this Nifty for fifty sale happening this week-end, featuring designer and vintage goods all for under $50. I just found out about these awesome wall decals by a local Vancouver outfit called Surface Collective. I just love wall decals; they’re really quite easy to apply and they can make such a dramatic difference to a space. And the best part for us renters is that they also come off fairly easily. You can check these guys out at their studio in Gastown, or retailer near you. Anyway, I am now off to Granville Island to enjoy the sun and hopefully find some cherry blossoms.

I just love these wall decals by valerydesignwrks, based in Edmonton. They are available from her online boutique. Best of all they don’t damage the wall so it’s the perfect way to add some interest to a wall you may not be able to otherwise do anything to if you’re renting. If your walls don’t need any decorating, surely your computer’s desktop or your ipod does? A nice selection of cute and fun wallpapers are available for download.

I do love argyle, in fact when I lived in Toronto I always thought it would be so awesome to live on Argyle Street. I thought it would be great to have argyle in my address. And the street is super cute too, and in a great location just off Queen West and close to Trinity Bellwoods Park. Anyway, these argyle light switch and outlet covers are so cute! The designer, Joanna Goldman, is based out of Toronto/Montreal.
